Vincent Salazar, a talented Mexican American artist, is a visionary with a diverse skill set spanning woodwork, sculpting, carpentry, graphic design, and electronics. Born into a family of renowned artists, he is the grandson of the legendary Faustino Salazar, a celebrated Mexican painter and muralist hailing from Puebla, Mexico. Faustino's artistic influence echoes throughout the city, where his murals adorn prominent locations, including the revered Temple of San Sabastian. Known as "El Retratista de Puebla" or "The Portraitist of Puebla," Faustino's avant-garde artistry reshaped the artistic landscape in Puebla and drew inspiration from his mentor, the esteemed artist Howard Leigh, as well as collaborative efforts with the iconic Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.

Vincent's father, Fausto Leigh Salazar, continued the family's artistic legacy, crafting cultural murals for esteemed government agencies in Mexico while championing the promotion of art in the House of Culture. Meanwhile, his mother, Rosamaria Portillo, a talented painter, teacher, and art restorer, supported Vincent and showcased her artistic prowess, imparting her wisdom to students in Atlixco.

Meticulously designed to captivate and delight, this arcade surpasses expectations with its innovative use of LED lights, enhancing the gaming ambiance and contributing to an immersive journey into the gaming world. The inclusion of Plexiglass adds a touch of sophistication, elevating the overall visual appeal to extraordinary heights. To personalize this grand creation, custom artwork adorns its exterior, paying homage to the Dallas Cowboys and celebrating the essence of fandom.

The little citizen project

 

I got recently approached by Westside Academy to undertake a project involving the construction and furnishing of a game room for their students. The scope of the project encompasses the following key elements:

  1. Five bar tops, each equipped with five different games.
  2. One medium-sized arcade featuring 3500+ classic arcade games from Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and Sega Genesis.
  3. One full-size pedestal arcade, boasting a 32” screen and housing over 3000 classic arcade games. The arcade is elegantly adorned with blue LEDs, translucent plexiglass, and two-player controllers.
  4. Restoration of five existing arcades, including the following: a. A four-player NBA Jam arcade, wherein the CRT monitor will be replaced with a high-quality LCD monitor, a new control panel with plexiglass will be installed, and fresh artwork, t-molding, and paint job will be applied. b. Marvel vs. Capcom arcade, which will receive new t-molding, repainting, and a new Jamma board. c. Crazy Taxi Arcade, to be refurbished with a new steering wheel, thorough cleanup, and rewiring. d. Bowling arcade machine, where a new control panel, CRT monitor, power supply, repainting, and t-molding will be incorporated. e. Cruising World Arcade conversion, involving the removal of the demo board and its replacement with a computer system featuring over 20 racing games. Additionally, the CRT monitor will be upgraded to an LCD screen, the steering wheel will be changed, and the arcade will undergo repainting and receive new t-molding.

I was thrilled to be part of this project and be committed to delivering high-quality workmanship, ensuring the game room provides a stimulating and enjoyable experience for the students at Westside Academy. I leverage my skills and expertise to deliver a game room that aligns with the Academy's vision and meets the needs of the students. I look forward to successfully executing this project and exceeding expectations.
